The HP 4020i that I have won't read any CD I create on it, but it will read other
CD's. Since it is out of warranty and it is the second CD drive in the computer I
have lived with it. We have a new 7020i at work and I like it.

Hello

I have a HP4020i CD writer and it has been superb, until now!. It appears to
have an intermittent fault. That being sometimes it will read a CD placed in
it then other times it won't!. I have recently installed W98 but I do not
think that is the problem as it has worked OK up until now. So before I get
'stuck in' any advise from the list on what to check or maybe cure the
problem will be appreciated.

TIA...Mick
