The trick is to patiently and evenly pry it out. If you have a chip puller it
might be easier but if not a thin screwdriver will do. It's best if you have
the board out of the case when it comes time to install the new chip. You might
need to apply enough force to install it that could crack the board if it's not
laying flat on a hard surface.

I think it's pretty much a crap shoot. I've had some that allow mixing and some
that don't. Here's where the manual comes in handy <g>
