You didn't quite state what speed CPU, but yes the M598
does support AMDk6-2, there site indicated that it may have to be manually
entered in if it could not be detected

in Socket 7 for AT Form Factor
Supports Intel P54C/P55C ,Cyrix/IBM 6x86/6x86L/6x86MX/MII , IDT C6 and AMD
K5/K6/K6-2 (2.2V &3.2V) CPUs and provides CPU Plug & Play feature for
earlier CPU installation and auto switching power from 2.0V to 3.5V for CPU
core voltage
