Well, if it were me I'd hold off. If the BIOS update brought something I absolutely needed, then I'd do it. I built a system off of a Chaintech board in which the SiS on-board audio would NOT install correctly without a BIOS update. That's what I'd call "needed."

Look at it this way, it's pretty easy to flash a BIOS, but if it doesn't give you anything you need or even want and something goes wrong, you have a chance to completely hose the computer.
