That's a pretty nice router, especially if in a home setting<??>
I forgot to look, but it looked like it had NO WIFI...
(That is a whole different thing so stop reading at this point.)

My router is hard wired, runs DHCP, and everything is on UPSs,
so I think I have eliminated most of the problems you list below by
just doing those two things.
I can bring a random computer in here and just hook up the cat5
and it is off and running... Very little setup, or at the most one time only...
(Then its good for life,)

The "cold start" - "everything"  order listing seems fine.
I don't wait two minutes for the modem BTW,
I watch the lights and as soon as it gets in sync with the DSL, I continue.

AS far as the OS?  I don't see where the router or modem would care
about that at all...  I'm assuming it has a WEB browser configuration
interface. (ANY WEB browser on any OS...)

Side note: I thought everyone in Canada used Rodgers. (Rogers?)
