The A: prompt signify's that you have booted to the floppy drive, now you 
only need to type  format C:  and then follow the prompts   Good luck

   If you can get the machine to boot diretly from the Win98 CD, that's the
easiest approach.
   If you can't, the fallback is to boot from a boot floppy *with CD driver
support*, place the Win98 CD in the CD-ROM drive, switch to that drive
letter (try D: first, then C: if that's not right) and run "setup" from that
DOS prompt.
