Hello all. I have a question about a legend of a board (IMHO, of
course). I have just purchase an
ASUS P5A motherboard; it was on sale for $20.00. So.... I've been putting
together a nice system
which so far includes:

Apex ATX100-G2 ATX case 300W-P4 power supply
AMD K6-2 450Mhz with a nice CoolMaster heat sink and fan
3x256 168 pin DIMM SDRAM memory for a maximum of 768M Ram
PCI soundblaster sound card
standard issue 56K modem
2 - case fans (to more than handle any heat issues and air circulation
inside the case)
CDRom drive
CDRom RW drive
3.5 HD floppy
5.25 HD floppy (YES, even one of these....OK, I'm a sentimentalist..OK)
2 - 40M hard drives master/slave combo

if everyone had been paying attention, you might of noticed that I haven't
mention anything about a
video card.
That is because I'm having a BIG problem with a video/graphics
card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the shouting. I am presently using a 4M Trident 9750 video
card. I went out with a joyous
and innocent mind by buying an ATI 64M Radeon 7000 agp 4x/2x DDR card. I
have tried several times
to install this bastion from hell and, as you all have guessed, I have been
very unsuccessful at doing so.
I want to continue to use the most out of this board, as you all may have
seen from the list above.
This e-mail is posted with much anxiety(sp?) for hast to a successful
solution to this problem.
Okay....okay...calm down now......okay.....okay....swallow, count to ten.
My question is, anybody out there that has had or knows someone who has had
AGP video problems
with this motherboard or has any knowledge of this problem, could you
please share that knowledge
with me. And, could someone please tell me if the above mentioned video
card is really a good one to
use with maybe the right down-loaded drivers or is there, say, a top three
known AGP video/graphics
cards to work with the ASUS P5A motherboard.
I want to thank you all well in advance for any and all help to this
temporary set-back.

Gerald
