The Celeron processor is designed for the budget minded consumer. It is good
for existing applications like word processing, spreadsheets, finance and
simple web browsing. Ithe Celeron 266 mhz. processor is up to 15% faster for
multimiedia compared to a Pentium Processor with MMX technology 233 mhz and
up to 35% faster for 3D applications. Compared to the PII there is no L2
cache built-in and it doesn't have the 100mhz. system bus found on the PII.
Simply put it is made to fill a price slot and if you have plans on heavy
graphics usage then the PII is far superior. Intel has plans to come out
with a 300A (300 mhz.) processor this fall with built in cache as well as a
450mhz. PII processor. If you have any other questions please feel free to
e-mail me or check out Intel's site at www.intel.com.
