I recently replaced my mb and hard drive and took the
opportunity to upgrade to Win98. I have noticed that the
boot process seems to be slower. For about 90 seconds,
nothing happens on the screen, but I can see the access
light on my CDRW flicker on and off. It is running off a
FirePort 40 SCSI card.

Win98 recognized my SCSI card directly so I did not
have to install from the Diamond CD as I did on my
Win95 machine. I am wondering if the Win98 SCSI driver
for my card is different and may have introduced
something to the boot sequence to cause this delay.

Before I installed the SCSI card, I noticed that Win98
seemed to load much faster than Win95 (but I was not
done with the installation of software, fonts, etc.).

Any ideas, hints or suggestions>

TIA

Jim
