Good news; got the hard drive to work....no idea how this happened, just turned the computer on after letting it sit for a day and it worked again????? Just wondering why this happens though and would love to get more info on that controller part that you mentioned Kevin. 
How do I check the controller and where is it? Just in case this happens again.

The ribbon and power supply cables seem to be fine, and if it's not the controller, than any other suggestions would be great.
