You could, but it would defeat one of the main reasons of having a ups. ffor
example my ups has 6 outlets. All are protected as far as surges brownouts
and spikes, three outlets *go dead* in event of a power failure. my printer,
scanner and desk lamp plug in there. three outlets are switched to battery
power in case of a total power failure and can operate my monitor, tower and
ext modem. this allows me a period of 10-13 minutes to finish up what i'm
doing and shut down gracefully
