The ATI Radeon 9600XT is a great card.I have the VisionTek Xtasy version. 
Your intended uses are similar to mine.I added a ATI HD TV Wonder card so I 
could watch HDTV on my computer or feed it to a large screen monitor. The 
HDTV card required Direct X9 which this card supports.
I have heard some good reports on the PNY Verto GeForce 6200 but have never 
seen a comparison of the two. I tend to be partial to ATI.
I am sure there are others on the list who can provide more feedback. Good
