Allan - if I have read and understand your question correctly <g>, IMVHO
what I believe that you are asking is if there is a way to "use" your hard
drive for archiving/backing up your computer like you would using a zip
drive. Yes, there are a number of freeware/shareware utilities like WinZip,
PowerDesk 98, that will allow you to archive/zip and store seldom used
files, etc. to floppy/zip disk or other storage media. Like a lot of things
in computer tech, there are pro and cons on the use of zip drives and the
associated problems related thereto. I would like to recommend that you
visit the following web sites for additional info,
http://www.myhelpdesk.com/Tabs/DirectoryTab.asp#ActiveGroup,
http://www.mkdata.dk/click/module4d.htm, and http://faq.superdisk.com/. The
LS-120 superdisk is another alternative that you may want to look into as
well. You can d/l WinZip and PowerDesk from http://www.shareware.com and
http://www.mijenix.com/powerdesk98.asp for 30-day free trials before you
commit yourself to the different storage media available. HTH. :-)
