Today I installed a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 120 GB as a replacement hard drive (primary and only) replacing an IBM 34 GB on a Micron Millennia Max, XP-Home. Used the MaxBlast 3 software included to format, parition, and copy the files from the IBM to the Maxtor. No go X2! The drive is correctly identified as the primary (tape drive is slave) BUT refuses to boot. Snooping around looks like it was partitioned (used Partition Magic 8 to check it out), but there are no files I can find on the Maxtor, and with PM, it is recognized as a second hard drive with partitions, but "L" is listed as "other" and when attempting to access, XP says it needs to be formatted. Seems it was not formatted.

So, my question, is after formatting and partitioning, is there some simply way to copy ALL files/folders from the 7 partitions on the IBM to the Maxtor?

Thanks so much.

Ed

PS: Wasn't sure if the was a PCSoft or Build question but seems more Build to me.
