Hi,
This is the first time this has happened after numerous rebuild of
win 98SE on my gateway g4-600, when I went to run a scan of the hard drive
using Norton 2001, for the first time it told me -----unable to read
the boot record on hard drive #0. CHeck to make sure the drive is
ready. Now I have had no problems with the computer since its last
rebuild in the summer--usinall all te same sotware I always have. The
only difference is this time the hard drive is 30 gig rather than a 16
gig hard drive, but I am also experiencing the same error on my slave
drive of 3 gig that I had created a disk clone to using the Norton
Ghost found in the HIREN cd

This has now happened on the same tower running newly installed win 2000. Plus on that I installed system works and when I went to install GO BACK, it said I could not as it cant detremine which is the boot driver--thre is only one 16 gig hd in the machine, plus a floppy, and zip, and cd rom
