Hi all,
I have a computer with an ASUS P2B-F main board and an Award BIOS. It has an
internal LS-120 as the A drive. It is the master on the secondary
controller. All of the sudden the LS-120 stopped working. I would get the
error message drive not accessible or something like that. After trying to
get it to work for a couple of weeks I thought that it had died on me even
though it was only a year old. Finally I purchased a Floppy drive and
installed it. I went into my BIOS and changed booting to A,C instead of
LS-120,C. I also changed the A drive to be 1.44MB Drive. When I tried to
boot the computer the floppy drive light wasn't coming on so once it was up
and running I tried to access the A drive and it looks for about 10 minutes
and an error comes up saying that the drive is unavailable. I tried 2
different Floppy drives & 2 different floppy cables. Nothing works. I even
reversed the cable in the drive and the drive light stays lit all the time
so I know that it is getting power. I also tried 2 separate power
connectors. Then I went into the BIOS and I turned the "Seek the Floppy on
startup" to "Enable". It was disabled by default. After doing this I got
the message that "Floppy Failed". Could the floppy controller be bad?
Isn't it strange that the LS-120 and the Floppy both won't work for the A
drive. Is there any way that they can be connected? It seems that the
computer won't run any drive that has a removable disk. Please Help. I have
since installed the LS-120 and the Floppy in the computer that I just built
and they both are working fine.

Thanks in advance for any ideas

Carol
