Your Screen freezes are likely caused by your Operating System if it has
been altered by a newly-installed program or hardware.

Try adjusting the Graphics Acceleration to "None" in "My Computer"
properties located in the "Performance" tab. This is a known, Win95 issue
and adjusting the Graphics properties in my experience doesn't take anything
away in your performance and may very likely fix your freezing episodes.

Word '97 also has a known bug in that it freezes when users click on the
drop down menus. You'll have to go to the microsoft web site and look that
one up if the Graphics "None" fix doesn't help.

The "Please Wait While Your Computer Shuts Down" hang? I'm open for any
tips from the group... I have a few that I can't get passed on my own.
