I am running Windows 98 on a HP Pavilion 6642F. We have not been able to boot the computer for 2 weeks. Last night I turned it on and got the operating sytem not found message, turned it off and back on.. it booted. I know that if I turn it off again- it might not boot next time.

  Thanks!

This could be several things, including a dead hard drive.
If you tell us what kind of computer, and what the operating system is,
we can advise you further.
