Subject: Re: Micropolis Hard Drive

I've got a couple of old Micropolis full height 5.25" 9GB SCSI drives in one
of the systems at the NSG NOC that run 24 hours a day. They get a little
toasty, but I have yet to have one fail. I know of at least two other
people that use the same drive just as hard with no failures.

When I worked for Micron Electronics, we used to ship that drive on high end
systems (this was in 1995) and very few ever turned up as defective.

I'm not sure how this translates for your situation, but Micropolis drives
have always been good to me.

And you're right, the company has gone out of business.
