I had this problem trying to run a USB device with Windows 98 (first
edition). Windows 98 (first edition) is not set up for USB. I tried a few
updates and add-on programs to enable USB. Unfortunately none of them were
reliable. I finally upgraded to Windows XP. Not only does it support USB but
it is a much more stable OS. I liked Windows 98 and was reluctant to
upgrade. I am happy that I did.

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] flash drive

On a related issue, I'm trying to get my flash drive to work on a Win98 (not
SE) computer.
It does work on a 98SE computer.
Is there a utility that will make it work on Win 98 First Edition?
