I have a old Practical Peripherals 33.6 Ext Voice Modem that was designed
to be used as a answering machine and message and speaker phone. It
actually sits on top of your monitor and has it's own speaker and
microphone. I use this modem with Winfax 9.0 /Talkworks as my message
center and it does a good job.

However I am unable to achieve acceptable sound quality when talking on the
speaker phone. If I try to use PC speakers ...modem microphone....while I
am on the phone I get feedback....so I have Talkworks set up to only use
the modem speaker and microphone. I can hear the other party OK but they
have a very hard time hearing me.

I suspect the modem....has anyone had any success with one of these ?
