  Although a few drives provide their own LED connector, this is really
only useful in drive arrays, and so it's only common on SCSI drives.
More generally, the drive "controller" provides the LED connection --
and in your case, that's on the motherboard.  Somewhere near the
speaker and reset switch connectors, there's a pair to drive an "HD
activity" LED.  Plug it in there -- if it doesn't flash/flicker when
you boot, turn it around.
