Just added a Fujitsu 3.2gb HD to a computer that has an old WD 170mb HD. No
problems there -- until I installed W95 OSR2 on the new drive. During the
setup it froze at about 30%, so I had to do a cold boot. The machine would
not boot. All peripherals would power up, but the monitor would not come
on. The standard 'beep' during bootup did not happen either. Figured it
may have something to do with Video Card. Removed and reseated it, still no
boot. After fiddling with the wiring and unplugging and replugging
everything in it booted back up fine, I just had to redo the install of W95.

Things went smoothly for about 20 minutes or so, then I put in another CD
and the machine froze again. Again, it would not boot, but the perifs would
power up but no 'beep' during boot and the nothing on the monitor. Piddled
with it some more, checking all wiring and even leaving the new drive out
and putting in the old, still nothing. It did boot once, then when I went
to plug everything back in, no go. No POST, nothing but the sound of HD's
and fans spinning...

I did notice that the power connectors to the motherboard were loose, but I
seated those too.

I have upgraded my machine several times, new harddrives, modem, video, etc,
with no problems. I really think this guy "Murphy" has been following me
around lately...every computer I touch these days seems to screw up one way
or the other.

Any ideas? I'm thinking power supply problems (again), but not sure. I
suspected heat problems too (I did put a big floor fan by the machine to
cool it down, didn't seem to affect it).

The machine is a Cyrix PR200MX, MTech R534G motherboard, 32mb SDRAM, 12x
CDRom, 200 watt PS. Just upgraded it about 2 months ago to the MTech 534G
and Cyrix PR200MX.

Thanks in advance....
Robert
