Glenn,
    Last time that I had the problem with the 4 sec. running after reboot. I
also had to unplug the power cord and do the restart. Solution was to open
case and clear the CMOS on the motherboard. Have to go in and reset bios
settings afterward. Hope this helps...        Kenny
