Minor correction. (Clarification.)
WinXP nearly(?) always has product activation.  (At least for users not
in a "big company" type setting...)
Sometimes it is TOTALLY invisible and can not be tripped except by changing
a MAJOR part (such as only the MB on BIOS locked systems, etc...)
