The extra wire is for the RPM sensor. Your motherboard probaby doesn't support
it. You can plug it in just fine. If you ever get a motherboard that has the
monitoring chip, you will be able to read the fan RPM, either through the BIOS,
or through one of the Windows based hardware monitoring programs available.
