You get this message on the first re-start after using msconfig to change
the startup settings.

I seem to recall that the message pops up after you check 'Selective'
startup instead of 'Normal'.

Assuming that this person has intentionally made the change, just opt for
the warning message not to show up again.

From: "Marilyn Wilson" Subject: [PCBUILD] System Configuration Utility in
Windows XP

A friend has started getting the following message on boot up of her Dell
Laptop. Can someone please tell me what it means and what to do about it?

>You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way
Windows etc......
The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective
Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run
every time Windows starts.

Chose the Normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally
and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utilisty.

[a box] Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility
when Windows starts.
