Bob, I have been researching AMD Athlon K7 800 as well.  I checked amd.com
and found recommended (nearly) everything including a site that recommended
motherboards

as I remember, they recommend Gigabyte and I have not heard yet of any
problems with it.  I do know that the FC1 is heavily modified from the
original specs, but so far no complaints due to any of the modifications.
