Read the EULA.
I strongly doubt that you can though, because each machine must have its own
OS licence (especially if that OS is of the M$ variety). However, I guess if
you bought another licence, I don't see a problem - alternatively, use
Linux:-)

question is can I install the OS that came with a computer that I purchased
( Sony RD536DS) Win 98se, these are recovery disks, but they do contain the
OS.
