Mark, there are several companies that sell floppy drives for around $10. I
doubt you could get anyone to look at repairing it for less. (TigerDirect
com or NewEgg.com)

Subject: [PCBUILD] Damaged A: drive

I have a 3/12 floppy A: drive that was damaged when

I inserted a defective diskette in. It stared making

a grinding sound. It was working fine

until then. Now it will not read any files or even format

the diskette. Will it have to replaced, or can it be repaired.

What part could be causing the trouble. Is there any

adjustment that can be made

Mark
