Hello!

I don't want to start a Winmodem, good or bad war again, but I have found
that winmodems work generally less successfully than "hard" modems in our
area - downeast Maine, a relatively rural area. And the reason, we have
concluded, is that the phone lines around here are poor: poorly maintained,
and the switching equipment is old and no longer sufficient to deal with the
increasing traffic on the phone lines.

My suggestion is to try a "hard" modem and see if it all works.

Good luck!

that refuse to connect to an isp. all i get is an infinit handshake. the
work fine when using terminals(hyper terminal, bitcom,..etc)

could this be a problem with my machine. i tried a USR ISA modem and it
worked fine. any idea on how to solve this problem
