I am bench running a Tomcat 1 in order to troubleshoot it. The board has 16
megs or ram a video card ,a processor, and a floppy drive. The components
other then the board have been checked in other systems. It will post but
it wont boot...it hangs after the post.
During most posts no errors are reported and all information is displayed
correctly however I have on some posts gotten the one long and three short
beeps associated with a Ega / Vga problem yet the video works fine and
nothing hangs or stops until boot begins. In fact I have swapped out the
video card without any differences.
I have tried clearing the Bios and setting to defaults but nothing changes
.....it won't boot.
I am beginning to suspect a corrupt Bios and if I am correct is the only
solution to replace the chip if shorting/clearing it doesn't work?
