Sorry - I'll leave the SCSI question to those who know what
they're talking about .

But I have just bought a CD-R - it's a TEAC CD-R55S (*12
read *4 write).
Although it hasn't got RW (re-write) capability, I've burned
both data & music CDs at *4 & with no problems - the time
saved with 4-speed write is great (we have a dual speed
'NOMAI external' at work that takes ages & often fails, even
at single speed).
I have a 2940 SCSI card (not the ultra-wide).

I'm in the UK, & paid 265 pounds (plus tax) for the TEAC -
so-far, so-good........
