Hi,
Check using the win98 boot disk and the fdisk command to see if the drive is
partitioned correctly.
That's the first thing I would do.
You don't say whether your hdd is new or not, but as I often use second hand
drives, fdisk is one of the first things I do.
I don't know what system you're using, but it is possible that your bios may
not recognise any bigger than a 10g hdd if it has an older bios.
Somebody else on this list will be able to advise you on that.
It might be worth trying to enter the hdd information in the bios manually
rather than setting it to auto.

Hello,

I am back again.

Turns out my previous problem was a faulty HDD.

NOW, my problem is working out how to get Win98SE to recognise more than
10gig of my 80 gig HDD.

I know Win98SE will recognise HDD over 40gig, as I have another machine with
40Gig HDD (partitioned) and a second drive of 8gig.

Any suggestions most gratefully accepted.
