Since posting this, I have replaced the power supply and case as well,
changed the location (physically moved the machine) to another office, used
a different network port, with no resolution to this problem. The machine
simply drops the lan connection during the Office 2000 install (deployed via
the server). My associate and I are simply baffled. We have also tried
various alterations to the BIOS. 3 sleepless nights so far.

Any suggestions welcomed. The objective is to fix the unattended s/w
deployement on this machine and not to do a local install (which I am sure
will work) 2 other machines with similar configurations completed without a
flaw. The network is 100mb, some machines still use 10mb NICs while others
are at 100mb.

Regards,
Dharam
