Hello everyone...

A client of mine recently installed 4 machines, each with Win2K and Diamond
Homefree 10MB network cards. The main machine, lets call it #1, is the only
machine connected to the phoneline to the ISP, (56K). The others, #2-#4,
need to have limited access to the net thru the other machine. Because of
the Hunt Line setup, they do not wish to connect first thing in the morning
and disconnect at the end of the day. The problem is... just letting the
machines sit there, (no external activity at all), one of them is dialing
out at random intervals. I guess this is bothering them. My question,
barring starting either web browser or mail client, what could be causing
#1 to dial out? Would Windows Explorer cause such a thing?

The software that comes with the Diamond PhoneNetwork cards does not run on
Win2K, so that is not installed... just the drivers.

Thanx for your time...
