You may have extra programs running that are using your resources up. Check
on the task bar in the lower right corner and see what's running. If there
are only two or three items there (you virus checking software, your display
adapter shortcut, your speaker volume, etc,) then your computer should be
flying. However, if your running AOL instant messenger, MSN instant
messenger, Realplayer and a bunch of other stuff then your computer is going
to really bog down.

Try reducing the number of programs that run in startup. Click on Start,
click on run, type in msconfig, and go into the startup menu. Disable the
stuff running by removing the checkmark to the left of it.

Hope this helps.
