Hi,
Just a couple of ideas to give you somewhere to start:

First I would check and double check all your cables to make sure there is a
proper connection between the pc and the monitor.
Also, check to make sure the video has not been disabled in the bios.
Hopefully it is as simple as this.

Are you able to install a video card into the pc? I would try that if you
are still getting nowhere as it sounds as though the integrated video may
have seen better days.
If you do go for this option though, make sure you disable the onboard video
within the bios or you may end up with conflicts.
