Rick,

If you are using a VIA chipset (MVP3, for example), you must load the
chipset patch (enables Windows to "speak" with the chipset, regarding ACPI
and friends) from the VIA web site / 4-in-1 driver 4.13.  Otherwise, IRQ
steering and PCI to CPU bridge will be dysfunctional, along with frequent
crashes during power saving events.  This is what I was referring to (see
www.viatech.com, go to product support / drivers, 4-in-1 driver v4.13).
This is for chipset (VIA), not for the CPU (AMD K6).
