My previous email did not display the data properly – to rehash:



Try downloading freeware  Belarc Advisor  (Belarc.com) and see what it shows.



On my desktop, I get this from Belarc Advisor:







Memory Modules



3292 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory



Slot ‘DIMM_1’ has 2048 MB (serial number 96C4476A)



Slot ‘DIMM_2’ has 2048 MB (serial number 96C44768)







At least you can tell if the memory is being recognized for what it is or not.



Belarc advisor gives a lot of info about your computer as well, components, software versions, etc.
