I have had a similar siruation with my Win95A. It seems that the OPL3
driver and the MPU-401 driver divide these jobs up and one drives the
.wav files and the other druves the .mid  files. You can find them on
the control panel multimedia advanced option. On my machine I can play
wav files OR I can play Midi files.  I hope this helps. Jim Morris
