We have a machine at home that shows strange things on the monitor during boot-up and re-boot. The system messages during POST have thin, horizontal black lines passing through the text. It's similar to faulty printer that leaves rows of pixels unprinted. They do not appear in a DOS window. Also, the windows 98 logon screen had been showing black dots scattered around the windows image that change position with subsequenting booting. Now the dots have become thick, vertical black streaks. These do not appear once windows is running or during any application. Is this a problem with the monitor?
