yes...that's what they are supposed to look like.  Leaving the top/back off
the casing increases airflow and cuts down on heat...great for the longevity
of the processor, or if you are an avid overclocker...

I just sold my first Pentium 3 system.
        The parts came today, and I was surprised to see that the
processor looked more like a Celeron than the PII. Actually, it
looks like a PII with half the black case missing. Is this what
they are supposed to look like?
