Hi Gary,

There are those fancy remote controls that let you setup the VCR and TV
together.  Despite not being the original manufacturer of the equipment, the
controls are able to communicate with the machine through the use of standard
codes.  Sorry about leading you down the wrong road with G_code.  G-code is
used for programme programming.

Anyway, here's a website that may have the information on the universal codes
that you are looking for.
