You need drivers for your hardware. HP usually don't provide drivers with
their PC (only a recover CD), but you can download drivers from HP website.

For personal use, I will never ever buy a "brand name" PC, after I had so
much incompatibility problem when working with them. Big companies simply
don't use standard parts so that you have to stick with them (if you still
want to keep the PC).
