*I'm running Win 7 on an Asus computer. I have a main drive split into
partitions C and D. I have another drive that I have Video on and other
large files. They are were both plugged in.

When I unplugged the Video drive, ** with the computer off and unplugged, **the
computer wouldn't boot. I got the setup screen, but then just a cursor in
the upper left corner of the screen.

I also think that unplugging it and trying to start the computer messed up
the Windows files. I know it doesn't make any sense. But when I plugged
the Video drive back in and booted, things were terribly different. The
toolbar looked like a Windows 98 toolbar. Restore didn't work at all.
Firefox lost a file and wouldn't open. When I opened Word it had to
reinstall, but didn't need the disk.

It was so bad that I tried my Windows Repair disk, but it wouldn't work. I
finally had to backup my computer, and then use my recovery disk and bring
it back to how it was when I bought it.

So, what's the deal with unplugging extra drives.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
