Have you checked the possibility that this may be due to a key sticking?

The sticky return key on my old keyboard had other users baffled (cursor 'disappearing', large gaps appearing in the text they were typing, etc.) until I explained the problem.

Subject: [PCBUILD] erratic typing on laptop

I have a dell laptop. As I'm typing, all of a sudden the cursor (type)jumps to another area. This is getting very frustrating. Please tell me there is a quick fix for this in the settings somewhere.

  Thanks,K
