I used to know, but I forgot. How do I find out who a specific IP belongs
to? At least, what is the domain name for the IP? I found the Tiny Personal
Firewall mentioned on this list and started using it. Now I wonder what the
IP addresses that are probing are. In particular, the SYSTEM is being
reported as wanting to connect to 172.16.162.n at ports 137, 138, and 139. I
suspect it is Microsoft's update facility, but would like to confirm that.
Incidentally, I tried using ZoneAlarm for a while but had to remove it from
my Windows 2000 system because of too many problems. Tiny Personal Firewall
does not give me any trouble.
