Lewis,

Try this, switch off machine
ensure you have a ps2 keyboard connected,
boot into safe mode ( F8 during post ),
run anti-virus, delete all found,
run ad-aware/spyware program, delete all found,
reboot machine,
run av and ad-aware to check.
your system should now be clean.
