I was very surprised to see that there was, indeed, no entry in device manager to disable my touchpad (Windows 7, Asus G53SW laptop). The disable/enable choice was not present in the properties or in the right click menu. I am shocked!

However, if I right click on the icon for the touchpad in the system tray (next to the Start button) and choose "Pointing Device properties" (or something like that, your touchpad may be different from mine), you will get a multi-tabbed dialog box. If I click the Device Settings tab, there is a Disable button there. Your mileage may vary..

Good luck!

There is no place to disable it in device manager nor in services.
When I go to Device Manager and go to the touchpad I see :
General ( This device is working properly ), Driver (Driver file details containing a list of files), Details, (device description), Resources ) no conflicts ) Nowhere is there a place to choose disable
